ASHLIE ADAMS

production designer : set decorator : art director

ABOUT

Ashlie is a multidisciplinary artist spanning mediums of narrative feature and short film, commercial, theater, and textile design. She studied theater, set design, and textile design at the University of North Texas. After graduating she moved to East Africa (Uganda and Tanzania). She spent two years working with Kyambogo University's textile program and Department for the Performing Arts and Film, Kitebe teen center, and a multitude of art and humanitarian based non profits in the pursuit to support orphaned youth, refugees, and artist communities. She returned to the States to pursue a degree in Architecture from Portland State University.

Ashlie's film and commercial career is the culmination of her studies, her spontaneous nature, travel, an eye for good design, and the thousands of films she’s watched since she was a kid. Her approach to design is building the world in which a story can be told authentically, working in collaboration with the director and her art department team to make magic with a great understanding of texture, color, light, space, empathy and humor.

Recent works include production designer on Rearview Mirrors directed by Kerstin Karlhuber with Penelope Miller and Erika Christensen, set decorator on Clock directed by Alexis Jacknow for Hulu and Disney Plus, and art director on Noah Segan’s Blood Relatives for Shutter. Recent commercial and editorial clients include Leon Bridges, Wrangler, Ford Bronco, Toyota Tundra, Target, Select Health Insurance, Lowe's Home Improvement, Tito's Vodka, Shiner Boch, Lonestar Beer, Boston Brewing Company, Centex, and Kinder Chocolate.
